| Description: | AMS Pictures is seeking freelance assistant editors for ongoing project work for all divisions of our company.
Candidates must have strong technical, organizational and communication abilities. Media
management concepts are a priority for this position. An assistant editor would be required to be an FCP technical expert with the ability to troubleshoot and research any issues that pertain to the editing systems.
Individuals must be eager, creative, organized and a problem solver. Must have the ability to work independently as many sessions will be unsupervised.

and Austin. An award-winning creative shop, with nearly thirty years’ experience designing turn-key communications solutions for some of the
country’s best known agencies and brands. Master storytellers who use digital media tools to create unique experiences that engage, enlighten and entertain audiences.
Company will not provide for relocation. |
| Duties: |
Setup and manage multiple FCP projects.
Exercise good media management and archiving practices.
Basic patching and engineering for edit suites.
Create digital files from edit sessions (approval and finals).
Completion of edit worksheets.

| Qualifications: | Bachelors degree preferred and at least one year of editing experience. Knowledge of the following is essential:
FCP project setup and folder structure, including naming rules.
Understanding of various HD and SD setups and codecs.
Understanding of various media work-flows, including tape-based and tapeless.
Full understanding of FCP Media Manager functionally.
FCP edit functionality, including but not limited to:
Easy Setups, Bin Creation, Log and Capture config, Log and Transfer config, Multiclip setup, Edit
to Tape, ‘Send To’.
AJA Kona hardware
Compression codecs including QuickTime, Windows Media, and Flash Video
Compressor
Willingness to work extended hours is crucial.
Prefer candidates with:
Knowledge of work-flow between FCP and Color
Knowledge of work-flow between FCP and Adobe After Effects
Knowledge of work-flow between FCP and ProTools
Knowledge of work-flow between FCP and DVD Studio Pro.
